From the President

President’s Welcome 2026

2025 began in wind and fire.

On January 7, devastating fires erupted in Eaton Canyon and Pacific Palisades, whipped on by powerful winds. The loss of life, of homes, of community rocked the lives of so many Angelenos. In the face of tragedy, countless individuals and nonprofits from across the country stepped up to help. It is heartening to witness such generosity and compassion. Although recovery will take time and effort, we are confident that the community will rebuild and flourish. We trust we can acclaim with the Psalmist: “we went through fire and water but you brought us to a place of abundance.”

The staff and directors of the Foundation remain committed to Mrs. Doheny’s vision to support and enhance a vibrant and healthy community for all people in Los Angeles. In 2026, with particular emphasis on addressing mental health challenges, the Foundation will continue our focus on Catholic education, restorative justice, and transitional-age youth. We are grateful to the many organizations with whom we partner in our mission to help our community flourish.
